Information collected by our website

If you use the contact form to send us an email, we will collect your email in order to respond to you.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will save your email address in our Mailchimp account in order to send you newsletters.

If you visit our website, information about your visit will be saved by our Matomo analytics software. We use the information we collect to operate and improve our website, apps, and customer support. Our Matomo instance is hosted on DigitalOcean, which may also collect information about your visit. Our website is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may also collect information about your visit. As of September 20, 2019, the GitHub Privacy Policy page states: “Please note that GitHub may collect Technical Information from visitors to your GitHub Pages website, including logs of visitor IP addresses, to maintain the security and integrity of the website and service.”

Information collected by the Flynote apps

Any notes you make on the Flynote apps will not be uploaded to our servers, and we will never have access to them. Your notes encryption key will never be uploaded to Flynote servers.

iCloud

Flynote stores your notes on your device. If you have iCloud enabled on the device, Flynote will also store your notes in your iCloud account on iCloud servers. These notes are end-to-end encrypted. The encryption key to decrypt the notes are never stored on iCloud. This means that Apple cannot read the contents of your notes.

We may disclose your information in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal requirements; to exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud or abuse, violations of our policies; or to protect our rights and property.

Security

We implement a variety of security measures to help keep your information secure. For instance, all communication with the website requires HTTPS.

Information for European Union Customers

By using Flynote and providing your information, you authorize us to collect, use, and store your information outside of the European Union.

International Transfers of Information

Information may be processed, stored, and used outside of the country in which you are located. Data privacy laws vary across jurisdictions, and different laws may be applicable to your data depending on where it is processed, stored, or used.
